Permanent Electoral Authority organizes electoral observation program with international participation

The Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) is organizing, on Saturday and Sunday, an electoral observation program for the elections for the President of Romania with international participation during which participants can familiarize themselves with the AEP's activity and the electoral system in place for the presidential elections of November 2.

"The delegations present in this study visit, organized in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), are composed of representatives of authorities and institutions with attributes in the electoral domain from several countries that are beneficiaries of the Official Development Assistance granted by our country, as well as representatives of international organizations and electoral management institutions that are partners of the AEP. We mention in this sense the presence of electoral management institutions from Afghanistan, Georgia, Ukraine, Palestine, Iraq, Latvia, Albania, and the Republic of Moldova, together with the representative of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), Mrs. Nancy Catherine Barnes. Through this program, the participants have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with AEP activity and the electoral system in place for the elections for President of Romania of November 2, 2014", the AEP mentions in a press release remitted on Saturday to AGERPRES.

According to the quoted source, on this occasion, the chairman of the Permanent Electoral Authority, Ana Maria Patru, will hold a presentation on the topic of the participation of women in elections. AGERPRES
