The Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) candidate for Presidency, Kelemen Hunor has cast his vote in his native commune Carta, and said when exiting the polling station that he had voted thinking to a strong Romania, a Romania that respects its citizens and would have a word to say in the Black Sea region and in the European Union.

"I cast my vote thinking to a strong Romania, a Romania that respects its citizens, a Romania in which a very high level of confidence exists amongst all the segments of the society, a Romania that will have a word in our region, in the Black Sea region and in the European Union too, meaning that it will support a European Union much stronger politically, economically, much coordinated and in the perspective, militarily," said Kelemen Hunor, who was accompanied by his wife, Eva, and their daughter Hanna.

The UDMR leader added that he had also voted for a Romania in which institutional guarantees for the national minorities exist so that they should preserve their identity, and also for a country in which the living standard will grow.

Kelemen Hunor highlighted that he expects from the future president to be "an architect, a visionary and have the opportunity to create consensus."AGERPRES
