Turkey’s special representative visits Libyan city of Bayda
A senior deputy of Turkeyâs ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Emrullah Ä°Åler, is paying his second visit to Libya in his capacity as Turkeyâs special representative to the country, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced on Nov. 3.
Ä°Åler was set to visit the Libyan city of Bayda on Nov. 3, after his delegation was unable to visit Bayda during a previous visit on Oct. 20-21.
Amid the turmoil that continues to roil Libya, Ä°Åler was set to meet with the prime minister and foreign minister of the government of Libyaâs House of Representatives, along with other local authorities.
The statement said the visit was within Turkeyâs official framework of âkeeping dialogue channels open with all parties in Libya and aimed to contribute to efforts for truce, dialogue and reconciliation.â
