Prime Minister Victor Ponta hailed the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on his Facebook page on Sunday.

'It's the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, an event that meant more than anything the end of the communist tyranny. The wall was a symbol, the frontier of that ?Iron Curtain' behind which the countries of the East dominated by the USSR were held,' Ponta wrote.
'The fall of the Berlin Wall preceded the unification of the two German countries and it was the zero point of the reunification of Europe. Let us honour today the memory of those who, in the communist world, fought with many sacrifices for freedom and democracy,' the official and presidential candidate added.
