ACL's Predoiu: Corlatean's resignation just a smoke curtain, let Ponta sort out diaspora issues

First Vice Chairman of the Liberal Christian Alliance (ACL) Catalin Predoiu considers that Titus Corlatean's stepping down as Foreign Affairs Minister is just a "smoke screen", and urges Prime Minister Victor Ponta to take over this portfolio as interim and sort out the issue of the diaspora ballot casting.

"We saw the melodrama played by Mr. Corlatean, this is not a response to the three million people in the Romanian diaspora. Let Ponta take over at the Foreign Ministry and sort out the issue, expand the polling places, release a government resolution, take all the steps a Prime Minister must take and see that the Romanians in the diaspora exert their constitutional right to vote. Let all the three million Romanians in the diaspora know that today the Ponta Government has poked them in both eyes, [that's the situation] as long as the polling places are not supplemented and no measures are taken to address the issue and allow the Romanians to vote in as high as possible numbers in the second round," Predoiu said after the ACL meeting.
