Bulgarian President, ex-PM to Assess Work of Interim Gov't

President Rosen Plevneliev and former caretaker Prime Minister Georgi Bliznashki are due to outline the results of the interim government's three-month tenure.

The event follows the transfer of power on Friday at which Boyko Borisov took over from Bliznashki as PM and his minority coalition supported by nationalist Patriotic Front and left-wing ABV assumed office.

The head of state and Bliznashki are to make their statements at a ceremony held in Bulgaria's Presidency.

Appointed by Plevneliev, Bulgaria's last caretaker government, the second in less than two years, has been met with mixed reception, with some experts and politicians arguing its main goal was to pave the way for a center-right cabinet by purging the administration and preparing draft bills to later submit to Parliament.
