MEP Ioan Mircea Pascu elected Vice President of European Parliament replacing Corina Cretu

The European Parliament (EP) on Wednesday elected S&D MEP Ioan Mircea Pascu as its Vice President replacing Corina Cretu, who left to join the European Commission, informs a release of the EP.

Ioan Mircea Pascu, Vice President of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs became thus the 8th Vice President of this institution.
The Romanian MEP is replacing Corina Cretu, who had been elected Vice President of the EP on July 1, in the second round of the elections.

However, later, Corina Cretu was nominated by Romania for the office of European Commissioner and the incumbent President of the Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, entrusted her with the portfolio of the European Commissioner for Regional Policy, on September 10th. AGERPRES
