Serbian FA appeals against 3-point deduction

BELGRADE -- President of the Serbian Football Association (FSS) Tomislav Karadžić says the FSS has filed an appeal to the UEFA over the three points taken from Serbia.

UEFA made the decision following the abandonment of the EURO 2016 qualifier Serbia played against Albania in Belgrade last month.

"An appeal will be sent to UEFA's appeals body today, and we will attempt to bring down the decision that was made and to arrive at a better solution," Karadžić said at an assembly meeting of the football association of the western Serbia regions on Tuesday.

UEFA later awarded Serbia a 3-0 win, but also deducted the hosts three points because a number of supporters invaded the pitch as the situation escalated.
