Bosphorus Film Festival kicks off
The second International Bosphorus Film Festival opened on Nov. 14 in Istanbul. Organized by the BoÄazici Cinema Association and Istanbul Media Academy, the festival focuses on Polish cinema as Turkey and Poland mark 600 years of diplomatic ties.
âPapusza,â âLife Feels Good,â âThe Girl from the Wardrobe,â âErratum,â âIda,â âImagine,â âYou are God,â âMy Fatherâs Bike,â âFear of Fallingâ and âWalesa: Man of Hopeâ are among the Polish films that will be screened at the festival.
American actor Omar Metwally, filmmaker Sam French and Croatian actress Kristina Krepela, as well as Ivana Chubbuck, the acting coach of Hollywood stars such as Brad Pitt, James Franco and Halle Berry, will attend panel discussions during the festival.
Workshops, panels and discussions on cinema will also be organized.
The Ahmet Uluçay Grand Prize will be granted to the best short film in Animation, Experimental, Short Film and Documentary categories, selected based on the criteria of cinema aesthetics, cinema technics and creativity.
The festival will continue until Nov. 28 with free admission at movie theaters Atlas, Cine Majestik as well as BaÄlarbaÅı Culture Center, Tarık Zafer Tunaya Culture Center and Tophane-i Amire.
