Two Chinese companies to invest EUR 48 million in Serbia

BELGRADE - A memorandum of understanding with the Chinese company Meita Group concerning an investment into the construction of a factory in Obrenovac and with Streit Group, also from China, about an expansion of a plant in Stara Pazova was signed at the Serbian government headquartes on Friday, with a combined value of EUR 48 million.

The Obrenovac investment is worth more than EUR 30 million and the one in Stara Pazova around EUR 18 million and they are expected to create more than 1,400 jobs.

The memorandum was signed by Serbia's Ministry of Economy Zeljko Sertic, Meita Group CEO Ben Che, Streit Group Executive Director Remy Barthelme and mayors of Belgrade Sinisa Mali, Obrenovac Miroslav Cuckovic and Stara Pazova Djordje Radinovic.
