Ukraine crisis, Ebola outbreak on agenda of General Affairs Council meeting

State Secretary for European Affairs, George Ciamba will be attending in Brussels on Monday a meeting of the European Union's General Affairs Council (GAC), the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) reports in a release to AGERPRES.

According to this source, the main items on the meeting's agenda are the Ukraine crisis, the stage of the Peace Process in the Middle East / Gaza Strip, the developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the situation in Libya and the Ebola outbreak.

"Ministers will hold an in-depth discussion on the crisis in Ukraine, with emphasis on the political settlement process, the stage of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the implications of the November 2, 2014 elections in the breakaway regions, the sanctions imposed on Russia and the energy issue. The participants will also exchange views on the stage of the Middle East Peace Process and ways to support the reconstruction of Gaza," MAE reports.

In addition, the Council will take stock of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, after the elections of Oct. 12, 2014. Ministers will discuss ways to bolster the relation between this state and the EU.

The meeting's agenda also includes brief briefings such as the latest developments in Libya and the results of EU's coordinated efforts to fight the Ebola outbreak.AGERPRES
