UAE hypermarket chain shows interest in Serbian products

BELGRADE/ABU DHABI - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic conferred on Sunday in Abu Dhabi with Managing Director of the LuLu Group Yusuff Ali, who voiced interest in including Serbian food products in the offer of the UAE's leading hypermarket chain.

Nikolic stressed that the traditional friendship between Serbia and the UAE secures a stable and certain future of their economic relations, the Serbian president's media cooperation office said in a release.

Serbia has a long tradition of food production, said Nikolic. "Our food products are of excellent quality and healthy," the president stressed, adding that Serbian producers in cooperation with scientific institutes are able to provide top quality foods.

He suggested considering the possibility of LuLu Hypermarket investing in the production of foodstuffs requested by its customers, and invited Ali to visit Serbia and see for himself that it is the right place for food production.

Ali said that he would like to see Serbian food products, primarily fruit and vegetables, in his retail outlets.

LuLu Hypermarket is a retail chain of the multinational LuLu Group International and a company that sets the standards of retail in the region. With over 110 retail and wholesale stores, it enjoys great popularity among buyers across the UAE.
