Curcic appointed as new coach of national football team

STARA PAZOVA - The Executive Committee of the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) has unanimously appointed Radovan Curcic as new coach of the national football team.

Savo Milosevic, FSS vice president in charge of national teams, suggested that Curcic should be appointed to the position replacing Dutch Dick Advocaat, who resigned after a 3-1 home defeat by Denmark in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Curcic is to coach the team by the end of the ongoing and the next qualification cycle.

"Radovan Curcic has demonstrated top qualities and expertise leading Serbia to the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in the Czech Republic and throughout his work as a coach to date," the FSS released on its website.

Curcic was awarded the FSS Golden Ball after he was declared the best coach in 2014 at Tuesday's session.
