Boskovic to attend agriculture conference in Palermo Friday

BELGRADE - Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic will attend the Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Agriculture in Palermo, Italy, on Friday, November 28, the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement on Thursday.

During a working visit to Italy, Minister Bogosavljevic Boskovic will meet with Italian Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Maurizio Martina, who also chairs the Council of EU Agriculture Ministers and is scheduled to open the conference on Friday.

The goal of the Euro-Mediterranean conference on agriculture is experience-sharing about measures of agricultural, food and rural development policies.

At the Palermo conference, the agriculture ministers will adopt a closing declaration defining joint objectives and recommendations regarding the role and activities of young people in rural regions and innovation, research, competitiveness and the quality of agricultural products, as well as mitigating the negative impacts of climate change in the Euro-Mediterranean region, the statement said.
