Serbia, RS basketball federations sign cooperation agreement

BELGRADE - The heads of the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS) and the Basketbal Federation of Republika Srpska (KSRS) signed an agreement on cooperation in Belgrade Friday.

The agreement was signed at the 3d Sports Fair in Belgrade by KSS President Dragan Djilas and his counterpart from Republika Srpska Boris Spasojevic, based on the Law on Ratification of the Agreement on the Establishment of Special Parallel Relations between Serbia and Republika Srpska.

"It has always been great to play against teams from Republika Srpska. We want new aces and we wish to continue achieving results like those in Spain this summer. I believe that after that one, more success is yet to come," Djilas said, expressing his satisfaction about the signing of the agreement.

The KSRS president voiced belief that cooperation between the two basketball federations would be successful.

"It is my pleasure to be in Serbia and to have signed the agreement in the presence of the ministers and (Serbian men's national team) coach Aleksandar Djordjevic. We have gotten an older brother and we will be exchanging young players and professional opinions," said Spasojevic.

The signing ceremony was attended by Serbian Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic, Secretary of State at the ministry Predrag Perunicic and Minister of Family, Youth and Sports of Republika Srpska Nada Tesanovic.
