UAE ambassador: Belgrade Waterfront in two years

BELGRADE - Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Belgrade Juma Rashid Saif Zayed Al Dhaheri stated that the Belgrade Waterfront project is developing according to the plans, and added that the Serbian capital would have something incredible in two years' time.

The Belgrade Waterfront project is a very large and significant project for both countries and nations, Al Dhaheri told Tanjug.

Noting that this task is not easy at all, the UAE ambassador stated that all the efforts will pay off eventually because, as he said, we will all stand witness to something incredible in two years' time which will change the face of the Serbian capital and turn it into a tourist hub for other countries as well.

He noted that the main investor in the project is the Abu-Dhabi based Eagle Hills company but he also noted that some other investors outside UAE may be interested, having in mind the complexity of the project worth USD 4 billion.

Serbian companies will certainly be included in the realisation of the project, which is one of the main goals, said Al Dhaheri whose country recently celebrated its national holiday to mark the 43rd anniversary of unification.

Al Dhaheri noted that Serbia has major potential in agriculture and that there are many investors interested in investments in this area. He recalled that several agricultural and food processing companies from UAE, such as Al Dahra and Al Rafaved, are already doing business sin Serbia.

Asked if the preparations for the project of Mubadala company have already begun in the IT sector, Al Dhaheri said that the procedure began a month ago and that everything is developing according to the plan. Mubadala should open a research centre in Serbia first, and...
