Miletic:Structural laws and comptetitiveness pose main tasks

BELGRADE - Next year will be very challenging for the economy, because a whole series of structural laws need to be adopted and the ones already adopted this year need to be implemented, Belgrade Chamber of Commerce President Milivoje Miletic said on Friday.

Improving the competitiveness of the economy is also a serious business task, so it could operate more efficiently, he said at a meeting of the Chamber's management committee, adding that only 40 percent of GDP was exported at the moment, making Serbia at the last spot when it comes to export per capita.
"We face the reform of the chamber system next year, which we have started because we wish to adopt the practice from countries with developed economies," he noted, adding that the goal was for the Chamber to get the ghighest quality certificate.

A lot has been done in the past 2.5 months, he stated, explaining that there had been a lot of activity at the recent summit between China and 16 countries of Central Europe, that cooperation had been estblished with the science institute in Rostov and that the revitalisation of the Kirilo Savic Institute had been started.

Serberal agreements with the Austrian Economic Senate have also been signed, and there are plans to establish cooperation with Vienna's economy, he pointed out.
