Removal of hazardous industrial waste to start in 2015

BELGRADE - In 2015, Serbia will begin to solve the problems of hazardous industrial waste, and funds have been provided for several crucial projects, Serbian Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Bogosavljevic-Boskovic said Wednesday.
"We have prepared two projects for the disposal of hazardous waste and funding for them has been provided by the budget," Bogosavljevic-Boskovic told Tanjug, pointing out that the projects concerned removing hazardous waste from the
sites owned by the firms ECO-GAS-MGS, in Sabac, and Prva Iskra, in Baric.
She said the plan was to have the job done during 2015, and besides those two, also on the docket was closing the tailings pond of the Zajaca mine.
Funding has been allocated for this project as well, the minister told Tanjug.
