Vucic wished the people of RS peace and prosperity and he wished Dodik a lot of success in his work.

In the message sent to Cvijanovic, Vucic said he sincerely wished prosperity for RS and happiness and well-being for its people.

"I am convinced that the economic relations, as well as cooperation in other areas between Serbia and RS, will move forward," he stressed.

RS celebrates Republic Day on January 9.

It was established on January 9, 1992, under the name of Serb Republic Bosnia-Herzegovina, by Serb members of the Bosnia-Herzegovina parliament after they had been outvoted on key issues that related to the former Yugoslavia's survival.

RS's position and jurisdiction were confirmed in Dayton in 1995, when it was declared one of the 2 political entitities that make up Bosnia-Herzegovina.
