Health officials issue warning amid flu deaths

Health authorities in Greece have called on citizens to be particularly scrupulous with personal hygiene amid a spike in the number of flu cases which has led to five deaths this season, with another 10 people in intensive-care units.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) has said it cannot offer an estimate of the virus?s progression but that the current wave of flu, intensified by the recent cold snap, will likely last another three months.

In comments to Kathimerini, experts recently expressed fears of a repeat of the 2013-14 flu season, when more than 300 people were placed in intensive care.
