Solemn session dedicated to the National Culture Day on Thursday hosted by the Romanian Academy

A solemn session dedicated to the National Culture Day will be hosted on Thursday by the Auditorium of the Romanian Academy, informs the press office of this forum in a release to AGERPRES.

Organised by the Romanian Academy and the National Science and Art Foundation, the festivity will open at 10 am, EET, with the speeches of the President of the Romanian Academy, Academician Ionel-Valentin Vlad, and the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Daniel, who is an honorary member of the Romanian Academy, to be followed by the message of President Klaus Iohannis.

They are also going to hold speeches Academicians Eugen Simion, Dan Berindei, Razvan Theodorescu, Ioan-Aurel Pop, Marius Sala, Solomon Marcus and Mihai Cimpoi.

Besides the members of the Romanian Academy, expected to participate in this event are also Prime Minister Victor Ponta, Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Sorin Mihai Cimpeanu, Minister of Culture, Ioan Vulpescu, representatives of the Parliament, of the state institutions, as well as important personalities of the public and cultural life.

According to the abovementioned source, invited at the event were also the former President of Romania Emil Constantinescu and the Romanian-Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop of Bucharest, Ioan Robu, also a honorary member of the Romanian Academy.

On this occasion, at 12:30 pm, the Theodor Pallady Hall of the Romanian Academy Library will host the varnishing of the exhibition "Mihai Eminescu ? Integral Expression of the Romanian Soul." AGERPRES
