Ballet fairy tale Nutcracker in Sava Center

BELGRADE - Nutcracker (SSccelkunccik), popular ballet fairy tale performed worldwide in the spirit of the New Year and Christmas holidays, will be staged at Belgrade Sava Center on January 16.

The two-act ballet, originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and the libretto adapted from E.T.A. Hoffmann's story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, was given its premi?re at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg on Sunday, December 18, 1892.

Nutcracker, which is to be performed in Sava Center, has been adapted by renowned ballet dancer and teacher Konstantin Kostyukov. The decoration and costumes is done by Angelina Atlagic.

The ballet will be performed by guests from Ukraine, soloists and the National Theatre ballet and orchestra under the baton of Djordje Pavlovic.

The Sava Center will host the champions of the Taras Shevchenko National Ballet of Ukraine, Natalia Matsak as Masha and Denys Wedak as the Nutcracker.

Aside from the guest, the ballet dancers and the ensemble of the National Theatre will also take part in the show.

The ticket price ranges RSD 800, RSD 1000 and RSD 1200, and they can be bought at the box offices of Sava Center and the National Theatre.
