President Iohannis has arrived in Brussels, where he is to meet Tusk, Juncker and Stoltenberg

AGERPRES correspondent Florentina Peia reports: President Klaus Iohannis has arrived in Brussels on Thursday, where he will be paying an official visit until Friday.

The head of state on Thursday is going to have talks with European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and on Friday he will be meeting NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Moreover, the chief of state will hold joint press statements with Juncker and Stoltenberg.

Before leaving for Brussels, President Iohannis said that in the discussions with these officials he would approach special interest topics for Romania in the relation with the European bodies and NATO.

'I thus wanted to underscore the importance our country grants to consolidating the profile as EU and NATO member state,' the head of state showed.

He said that a priority of his mandate was the achievement of a comprehensive integration of Romania, showing that he would clearly convey this message.

'I shall talk about the steps that Romania must make for this comprehensive integration and to better perform its NATO member role,' Iohannis showed.

The delegation accompanying President Iohannis in Brussels is made up of presidential advisors Dan Mihalache, George Scutaru, Leonard Orban, Cosmin Marinescu, Andrei Muraru and Tatiana Niculescu Bran ? head of state spokesperson, personal advisor Mihai Razvan Ungureanu and General Staff head Lieutenant General Nicolae Ciuca.

The visit to Brussels is the first visit to a foreign country paid by the head of state since the mandate takeover. AGERPRES
