Nineties satanist ringleader released (photos)

It was June, 1995, when the whole of Greece quivered with tales of a ring of good-looking young satanists that had murdered a 14-year-old girl and a 28-year-old woman in black magic rituals. Ringleader Asimakis Katsoulas, Manos Dimitrokalis and Dimitra Maryeti sat at the bench, dominating public opinion.

Following the release of Maryeti and Dimitrokalis, the last of the three members, ringleader Katsoulas was released a few days ago under strict terms. The 44-year-old is closely monitored on parole as four years ago, he had been embroiled in a sexual harassment case after impersonating a police officer.

Social workers and prosecutors had carefully assessed his files for ten months before deciding to release the 44-year-old man.

During his trial, he had been described as a highly intelligent 17-year-old with good looks, a restless spirit and a persuasive manner. At the time, he enjoyed listening to heavy metal and read books concerned with mysticism and the occult.

Maryeti was released in 2001, and sources state that she has changed her life. She is now married with children and few people know that she is the 18-year-old girl who had been an accomplice in horrific crimes.
