Slavic Carnivals exhibition to be held in Belgrade in June

BELGRADE - The Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade will host an exhibition titled Slavic Carnivals, authored by curators of 12 museums in Slavic countries, in June.

The exhibition, organized by the Forum of Slavic Cultures, under the auspices of UNESCO, will also feature a round table on new forms of carnival as tourism potential.

Just like in other Forum member countries, the exhibition in Belgrade will be open to the public for 21 days, and the participants in this event will also visit the Flower Carnival in Bela Crkva, eastern Serbia, the Ethnographic Museum has said in a release.

This exhibition was presented at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris last year, marking 10 years since the establishment of the Forum, and besides in Serbia, it will also be put on in other Forum member countries until the end of 2016.

The Forum of Slavic Cultures, with headquarters in Slovenia, is an international organization founded in 2004 with the aim of preserving and developing cultural values, traditions and cultural heritage on the territory of countries that speak Slavic languages.

Today, the Forum brings together ten permanent members - Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Belarus, Croatia, Macedonia, Russia, Slovenia, Serbia, Ukraine and Montenegro - and three observer countries - the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.
