INSCOP: Romanians take deep liking to Western states

Romanians take a deep liking to Western states, with Germany topping the rankings of the countries towards which feelings are rather positive, with 87.3% of the options (84.3% in July 2014), according to an INSCOP survey released on Monday to AGERPRES.

According to the document, Great Britain ranks 2nd (84.7% of positive feelings), followed by Spain, with 83.3%, and Italy, with 82.1%. The next states in the rankings are the U.S.A (80.8% of respondents voice rather positive feelings) and France (80.3%).

As many as 79.8% of Romanians have rather positive feelings towards the Netherlands, 75.8% towards Belgium and 73.1% for Japan. Next come Greece (67.8%) and the Republic of Moldova (67.7%).

Rather positive feelings are manifested towards China by 58.4% of respondents, and 54.2% have such feelings towards Serbia. The following are Bulgaria (54.1%), Israel (53.1%) and Turkey (52.3%).

As many as 41% of Romanians are rather favourable to Ukraine (compared to 45.2% in July), 38.1% to Hungary (40.4% in July 2014) and 25.4% to Russia (37% in July 2014).

The survey was conducted by Research INSCOP from February 5 to 10, 2015, and commissioned by "Adevarul" daily. The sample volume was 1,065 people, representative for the Romanian population aged 18 and over. The maximum accepted error of the data is plus / minus 3%, at a confidence level of 95%. The method used was opinion survey based on a questionnaire applied by interviewers at the respondents' domicile. AGERPRES
