Rusetu stud farm: 20 Furioso-North Star breed horses to enter training program, be up for sale next

The breed was introduced to Rusetu in December 2012 from the Beclean stud farm (Bistrita-Nasaud County) and it now includes more than 100 animals of which 9 stallions and 42 broodmares, a pool for the further development of this warmblood horse breed created in the mid-19th century in the stables of the Royal Court of Hungary. At the Lunca Noua facility, within the boundaries of the Rusetu commune, the professionalism of the horse carers adds to an enviable material base that includes modern stables and 600 hectares of land owned by the farm.

Twenty Furioso-North Star breed horses from the Rusetu stud farm (Buzau County) will start a training program next month and will be then put up for sale for equestrian sports.

"This is a highly popular horse breed in Hungary and not just because it is ideal for lighter draft work, sports and leisure. In addition to jumping and dressage competitions, these horses have features that highly recommend them for the mounted police service or medium draft work," manager of the Rusetu stud farm Romica Bizu told AGERPRES.

According to him, "the Furioso is an intelligent horse and, despite its name, of a rare gentleness. The head is expressive, shapely, with a wide brow and straight profile, but what is more important, the eyes are sharp and alert."

Bizu asserts that two years since the breed's introduction to the stud farm, one can say it has wonderfully adjusted to the Baragan Plain.

"The National Classification Commission verified last fall the entire stock. No animal was downgraded, which is a positive indicator that the breed adjusted well...
