Tennis: Simona Halep makes it to Dubai final, faces today Karolina Pliskova

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep qualified for the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships, a tournament with a prize fund of $2,513,000, after defeating Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki 2-6, 6-1, 6-1. After struggling at the start of the match, Halep resurged and ended with a sweeping victory.

World No. 4 and UAE top seed Halep will play her second final this year, after the title won in Shenzhen (China).
The advancement to the semis brought Halep a cheque of 227,860 US dollars and 585 WTA points.

Simona Halep is next to play today's Dubai final against Czech Karolina Pliskova, who made it this far by beating unseeded Garbine Muguruza (Spain) 6-4, 5-7, 7-5. Pliskova (aged 22) is Dubai seed 17 and world No. 18. AGERPRES
