Cerar: Many opportunities for even better cooperation

BLED - Slovenia's Prime Minister Miro Cerar has said that Serbia and Slovenia have good cooperation, but there are still many opportunities for taking it even further, especially at the economic level.

In terms of economy and tourism, Serbia and Slovenia have many common interests, and I expect the cooperation to develop further, Cerar told reporters at Bled on Saturday evening at the close of Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic's visit to Slovenia.

Cerar said that the most important thing is that there is mutual trust, which was even enhanced with Vucic's visit to Slovenia at the political, but also other levels.

As he put it, Serbia opens "another window into the world" for Slovenia, as it has contacts with some countries with which Slovenia is not that close, but, on the other hand, Slovenia further paves Serbia's EU path.

The Slovenian prime minister said that he supports Vucic in putting the reforms in place, which are hard to tackle in the short term, but good in the long run.

I know that Vucic has a difficult situation, but he is a fighter and has the courage to face it. I think he has already proved that he is going in the right direction and looking to the future, Cerar said.

According to Cerar, the Serbian prime minister has a modern approach and understanding for different regions.

He can communicate well in the region too, and has an excellent approach when talking with politicians from Europe and other parts of the world. He understands the situation in which Serbia is in, and I wish him to take reforms even deeper and achieve his goal, and that would benefit Serbia, the Slovenian prime minister said.
