“I want to ride my bicycle” say the young and the rich

Bicycling is the “new golf” in Silicon Valley. Even though the richest US citizens, with an income of over 100,000 dollars keep playing golf, according to Reuters, the past eight years, the popularity of the sport keeps getting reduced, year by year.

 

According to Max Levchin, co-founder of PayPal which was sold to Google for 228 million dollars, and who now works for Yahoo and Yelp, sports that intrinsically aided business deals like golf have become almost obsolete, while cycling has taken its place.

 

While golf numbers are falling and cycling numbers are rising, anyone who thinks cycling is an inexpensive sport should think twice. Many bicycles cost up to 20,000 dollars, like Levchin’s Cervélo Rca.
