Record number of visitors at Tourism Fair

BELGRADE - This year's International Fair of Tourism in Belgrade was visited by a total of 70,000 people, and around 5,000 of them were guests from abroad, which asserted that the event has a leading position in the region.

The biggest tourist event in this part of Europe was marked by the promotion of top values in all world cultures and nations and by an affirmation of travel.

In addition to the tourism fair, three more events were staged in the six halls of the Belgrade fair, including the HORECA Fair of Hotel and Catering Equipment, BEO Wine Fair and the Souvenir Fair.

The 37th International Fair of Tourism was opened by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, while Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic and Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali offered major support and engagement during the event.

During the fair from February 19 to 22, several agreements on cooperation were signed and a number of business agreements and arrangements were closed.

The presentation of the United Arab Emirates won considerable attention during the fair. The Emirates acted as the partner at the Tourism Fair this year and a memorandum on cooperation was signed with the country as well.

The slogan of the fair was 'Seize the Moment' and over 1,100 presenters from entire world promoted their tourist offer, culture and tradition, as well as wine and specialties.

The Tourism Fair placed Serbia on the map as an important tourist destination and a unique corner in Europe with rich ethnology heritage, natural potentials and cultural abundance.
