Vucic: IMF sent clear signal that Serbia is on right track

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said Tuesday that the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) approving the latest arrangement with Serbia was a clear signal that our country was on the right and safe track.

Opening the one-hundredth meeting of the current Serbian government, Vucic informed the ministers about the decision of the IMF's board of directors to grant Serbia the precautionary arrangement and said he was proud of that fact as it had come after seven months of hard work.

He thanked former finance minister Lazar Krstic for insisting on stricter discipline and the importance of getting this arrangement, and particularly to the current finance minister, Dusan Vujovic, for putting in a lot of energy and hard work, which he said was true of all the other members of the government as well.

Vucic said that Serbia had proved with that hard work that it was able to be a serious, reliable partner to Europe and the rest of the world and that the world could count on Serbia.

"A lot of difficult days and months are still ahead of us. This is a clear and unambiguous signal that the international institution is sending to the world - that our country is on the right and safe track," said Vucic.
