DNA May Help Bosnia Solve Lawyer's Mystery Killing

Police in Bosnia's Federation entity may be on the point of uncovering who set the explosive device which killed a respected 61-year old lawyer, Jasmina Koricic, in Bihac, Bosnian media reported on Thursday, adding that the Center for Forensic and Information Support was providing important support to the probe.

Koricic was killed on February 13 in the blast on the doorstep of her office. The murder, atypical for Bosnia, shocked the country and puzzled police as well as the victim's family members, friends and colleagues. They say they have no clue about what lies behind the crime.

On Thursday, however, media reported that Federation police investigators had discovered traces of DNA at the crime scene, which may lead them to the killer. No more information has been provided for operational reasons.

"We are following the trail towards resolving this case but this is all we can say at the moment," Bihac police spokesman Ale Siljdedic told media.
