Police in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, have arrested two people after they were found to be carrying counterfeit passports and other bogus travel documents.

During an operation conducted in cooperation with officials from other European countries, members of the Greek Police?s organized crime unit detained a 26-year-old from Georgia after he presented a counterfeit passport containing the details of a different person.

The suspect, who was arrested as he walked out of a Thessaloniki hotel, was carrying several travel documents ? including three boarding passes and a flight reservation ? with the same personal details as the passport.

A 59-year-old was also arrested near the scene on the same charges.
