CSAT approves stationing in Romania of Portuguese aircraft for NATO Air Police missions

The Supreme Council for the Country's Defence (CSAT) has endorsed on Tuesday's meeting the proposals of the Prime minister referring to the entry and stationing on Romanian territory, over May - June 2015, of forces and means belonging to the Portuguese Army, with four F-16 Falcon aircraft and the respective staff - rd 150 military and civilians - with the aim to train and conduct NATO Air Police missions, the Presidential Administration informs in a press release sent to AGERPRES.

The President, Klaus Iohannis is to inform the Parliament about the decision made, according to the law.

The CSAT meeting on Tuesday was attended by Prime minister Victor Ponta, deputy Prime minister Gabriel Oprea, who is also minister of Internal Affairs, the National Defence minister, Mircea Dusa, the Foreign Affairs minister, Bogdan Aurescu, the Justice minister, Robert Cazanciuc, the Economy, Commerce and Tourism minister, Mihai Tudose, the Public Finances minister, Darius Valcov, the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) director, Eduard Hellvig, the first deputy of the SRI director, Florian Coldea, the first-deputy of the Romanian Foreign Intelligence (SIE), Gral Silviu Predoiu, the chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant-General Nicolae Ciuca, the presidential counselor for National Security, George Scutaru, the CSAT secretary, Gral Ion Oprisor.

Attending as guests were minister for the Information Society Sorin Mihai Grindeanu, and the director of the Protection and Guard Service (SPP), Gral Lucian-Silvan Pahontu. AGERPRES
