Greek Eurovision Finals: "One Last Breath" of hope for Greece (photos + videos)

Greece will be represented at the 60th Annual Eurovision Contest in Vienna on May 19 by Maria-Elena Kyriakou. The beautiful singer, last year's winner of The Voice hit talent show, will represent Greece with the throaty ballad, "One Last Breath" after the audience and Greek contest committee voted on Wednesday.  The first semifinal takes place on May 19, followed by the second final on May 21. Should the sultry young singer do well, she will then participate in the Eurovision finals on May 23.

50% of the vote was made up of the voting results of the seven-membered judicial committee and the other 50% was by televoting. The results were announced by Greek Eurovision champion Elena Paparizou (My Number One, 2005) and the Director of the NERIT Music Groups Nikos Xanthoulis.

"I am very enthused," gushed the sexy winner while holding the Greek flag. "Thank you Greece for chosing me. I have no words. I can't believe this is happening!"

The music is by Kyriakou herself and Efthyvoulos Theocharous while the lyrics are by Vangelis Konstantinidis and Evelina Tziora.

Kyriakou's reaction to the win:

The Greek Eurovision finals began at 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Enastron music scene with directions by choreographer Fokas Evangelinos. Presenters Mary Synatsaki and Doretta Papadimitriou drew admiration for their choice of gowns with plunging necklines.
