International award for composer Ana Krstajic

BELGRADE - The piece for soprano and piano titled "Trag" (Trace), composed by Ana Krstajic, has triumphed in the Ithaca Women's Works Young Composer Competition.

As the PR service announced, the poem by Serbia's great writer Milos Crnjanski served as inspiration for the winning composition which will be performed on March 29 at the annual concert -the young composer competition in the U.S.

The Ithaca Women's Works Young Composer Competition is a prestigious competition whose goal is to promote young women composers from across the world.

Krstajic is a third-year student at Belgrade's Faculty of Music composition department, where her mentor is Professor Isidora Zebeljan.

Besides contemporary classical music, Krstajic has been composing music for video games and auteur movies.
