Mayor promises "two 20-storey residential towers"

CANNES -- The construction of two 20-storey, 68,000 sq m residential towers will start in the summer, Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali has announced in Cannes, France.

The towers should be built as part of Belgrade Waterfront - a project criticized by the opposition and also some experts.

The buildings that should be constructed in the first stage of the project, were presented on Wednesday at the Eagle Hills company booth at the international real estate show, MIPIM.

"Last year we presented the master plan and the concept of building the Belgrade Waterfront, and this year we made a big step forward, presenting the final design of two residential towers whose construction will start in the summer," Mali said.

Another tower, a shopping mall, a corporate building and a hotel will also be constructed immediately afterwards, which is the first stage of the project, he said.
