Serbia, Bulgaria have "joint interests and projects" - FMs
BELGRADE -- Relations between Serbia and Bulgaria are "good," while there is "mutual willingness to improve them even further based on shared interests."
The two countries also want to continue working on joint infrastructure projects, foreign ministers Ivica Dacic and Daniel Mitov said on Friday in Belgrade.
At a joint press conference after the meeting, Dacic and Mitov said that Serbia and Bulgaria will continue working on the projects, including Corridor 10, railways, gas interconnections and power system connections.
Mitov, who is on a visit to Belgrade in his capacity as Bulgaria's foreign minister, said that his country continues supporting Serbia along the path toward EU membership.
The issue of minorities was among the topics discussed.
"We should resolve all issues in a friendly spirit and ensure a better position of national minorities," said Dacic, and Mitov extended thanks to the Serbian government for its readiness to solve possible issues facing the Bulgarian minority.
Mitov said that he also discussed the issue of restitution with his Serbian counterpart.
Addressing reporters, Dacic said that the decision to extend the OSCE Mission in Ukraine was "a very important result achieved during Serbia's OSCE chairmanship."
According to Mitov "Sofia supports all efforts invested by Serbia as the organization's chair," and described the Ukraine mission's mandate extension as "very important."
Dacic reiterated the call for all relevant sides in Ukraine to enable access and guarantee security for observers so as to ensure truce in the field and launch a political process aimed at finding the solution.
