Three Frenchmen arrested after abducting baby girl

BELGRADE - Serbian police arrested three Frenchmen on Friday after they kidnapped a two-year-old girl in Belgrade municipality of Vozdovac.

M.S., 46, S.A.G., 50, and E.K., 26, were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking, the Serbian Ministry of the Interior has released.

The two-year-old girl was abducted in broad daylight around 13:00 CET, when the kidnappers coming out of a BMW with French plates stopped a woman in the street and took the child out of her hands.

Owing to a quick and efficient police action, which involved an interceptor and a helicopter, the abductors were arrested in the area of Sremska Mitrovica after only two hours of pursuit.

The girl was returned to her parents uninjured, and the suspects will be charged before the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade.
