Ciamba (MAE), Czech counterpart talk about current issues on European agenda

Secretary of State for European Affairs George Ciamba on Monday met Secretary of State Tomas Prouza, coordinator of the Department for European Affairs within the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, the two officials having approached current issues on the European agenda, as well as aspects of interest on the dynamic of the Romanian-Czech bilateral relations, informs a press release remitted to AGERPRES on Monday.

"In what concerns the topical issues inside the EU, the discussions highlighted the position similarity of the two sides, agreeing on continuing the coordination on common interest topics and highlighting the constructive role the cooperation in the Visegrad Group + Romania and Bugaria format had in the efficient promotion of the positions and interests of these member states on a European level. In context, the Romanian Secretary of State wished success to the future Czech Presidency of the Visegrad Group, voicing Romania's interest in being as closely connected to the activities in this format," the Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) points out.

The two officials also approached topics related with the Energy Union, in this context having underscored the importance to intensify the efforts aimed at consolidating the European energy security.
