Minister for emigration Angel Tilvar receives American Jewish Committee Jerusalem Director Avital Leibovich

Angel Tilvar, minister delegate for the relations with the Romanians abroad, received on Wednesday Avital Leibovich, director of the American Jewish Committee Jerusalem (AJC) of Israel.

According to a release of the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) to AGERPRES, the Romanian official underlined the importance of the community of Israelis of Romanian origin as a bridge between Romania and Israel, through its significant contribution to the consolidation of the Romanian identity profile abroad.

The meeting was an opportunity to reassert the interest of Romanian authorities into the broadest possible involvement of the Romanian community of Israel into the associative environment.

Avital Leibovich mentioned the attachment of Israeli citizens of Romanian origin to the cultural values of their former motherland and reviewed the activities and projects supported by her organization.

Minister Tilvar asked for the point of view of the AJC head on the experience of her institution in the organization of events that gather the Diaspora on an international level, similar to the Congress of Romanians Abroad to be organized by the Romanian authorities this year, MAE also mentioned in its release.AGERPRES
