Knife found by Vangelis Giakoumakis side bears only his DNA

Preliminary results showing that Vangelis Giakoumakis committed suicide by slashing his wrist were boosted this week, after tests showed that DNA on a knife found next to his body contained only his genetic material.

At the same time, minute traces of his own blood were found on his clothing, whereas a soil analysis apparently shows that the body was not moved from another location to the spot where it was found.

Moreover, no evidence has been found so far to show the presence of one or more individuals at the site.

Nevertheless, forensic medicine professor Theodoros Vougiouklakis told protothema.gr that toxicological and tissue results are still pending.
