President Iohannis welcomes Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan at Cotroceni Palace

President Klaus Iohannis welcomed his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Cotroceni Palace on Wednesday, as part of the latter's official visit to Romania.

President Klaus Iohannis and his wife Carmen Iohannis welcomed the Turkish President and his wife.

The reception ceremony took place on the official plateau at the Cotroceni Palace, where, after the performance of the two national anthems, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan saluted the Guard and Protocol Regiment.

The delegation of President Klaus Iohannis is made up of Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu, Foreign Affairs Ministry's Secretary of State George Ciamba and Presidential Advisers Lazar Comanescu, Ion Oprisor, Leonard Orban, Cosmin Marinescu, Tatiana Niculescu-Bran, Andrei Muraru and Laurentiu Stefan.

The two heads of state will have head-to-head and official conversations with the participation of the members of the delegations, after which they will make press statements.

At the end of the day, President Klaus Iohannis and his wife will offer an official dinner in the honour of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and his wife, Emine Erdogan.

The President of Turkey will also have meetings with Prime Minister Victor Ponta and with the Presidents of the two Parliament Chambers, Calin Popescu-Tariceanu and Valeriu Zgonea. AGERPRES
