Germanwings plane crash: Second black box recovered

The second black box from the Germanwings Airbus A320 which crashed in the French Alps last week has been found after a nine-day search, it has been revealed today.

One of the prosecutors handling the case has announced today that the box has been recovered from the site and that it is currently being examined, in the hope that it will unearth more clues about the mysterious disaster that caused the death of 150 people.

The technical flight data which may have been recorded in the second black box could offer insights into the last moment of the doomed flight. The first black box, found immediately after the crash, recorded conversations between co-pilot Andreas Lubitz and the pilot which showed that the 27-year-old Lubitz probably brought down the plane intentionally.
