Princess Margareta, on Prince Nicolae's birthday: We are very proud of him, he is our spiritual son

Princess Margareta on Wednesday evening said she was very proud of Prince Nicolae, who already adopted Romania, even if he was not born here.

"Both Prince Radu and I are very proud of Nicolae, who is like our spiritual son (...) The country hasn't adopted him much yet, but he already adopted Romania, even if he wasn't born here. And this is just wonderful," said Princess Margareta, at the official dinner offered at the Elisabeta Palace on the occasion of Prince Nicolae's 30th birthday.

In his turn, Prince Nicolae thanked Princess Margareta and Prince Radu, his "mentors", for supporting him in all his projects.

Besides the Royal Family, attending the event was also Prince Aleksandar of Serbia, the son of Crown Prince Alexander II of Serbia, Princess Eleonore of Schaumburg-Lippe, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Romania, Paul Brummel, Dunja Kusturica, the daughter of film director Emir Kusturica, friends, former school and university mates, collaborators of Prince Nicolae in Romania, UK, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, Greece and Kenya.

The menu included raw vegetables salad with red blueberry and smoked duck breast, salmon fillet with pesto sauce, mashed cauliflower and peas and a birthday cake, and also drinks such Aligote la Court Royale 2011, Chateau Ormes de Pez 2010 and Grasa de Cotnari 1989.

According to His Royal Majesty King Mihai I, between March 29 and April 4, 37 guests of Prince Nicolae will be visiting Romania, all coming from Europe.

On this occasion, there was also organised a new edition of the project 'Romania. A Royal Journey,' including the cities Bucharest, Sinaia and Sibiu.
