Romania participates in the 2015 edition of the London International Book Fair

Romania is set to participate in this year's edition of the London International Book Fair, about to start on April 14, with 15 publishing houses, according to a release sent by the Romanian Embassy in London to AGERPRES on Thursday.

According to the abovementioned source, the Romanian stand and the event programme were conceived, organized and financed by the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR), via the National Book Centre and ICR London, with the support from the Romanian Embassy in London and the Association of Romanian Publishers, the European Bookshop in London and Patrick Leigh Fermor Society.

With the actual Fair being open only to professionals, the public events were organized at the headquarters of ICR London and the European Bookshop next to the Piccadilly Circus, where last year ICR arranged a Romanian books shelf, specified the release.

According to the Romanian Embassy in London, the concept behind the Romanian programme at the current edition revolves around the idea of bridge-author, of the writer able to unveil, outside its space of origin, the profound design of a cultural identity and to translate, in its own culture, the historic, cultural and intellectual profile of a foreign culture.

The programme is based on two writers ? one Romania, the other from UK ? "who made from their work, each one in its own style, the privileged place of some important cultural and self-discoveries."
