Kosovo signs deal for Brezovica Ski Resort with French

PRISTINA - Kosovo Minister of Trade and Industry Hikmete Bajrami and Pascal Roux, representative of the French consortium MDP Consulting Compagnie des Alpes, signed in Pristina Tuesday an investment contract for the development of a tourist center at the Brezovica Ski Resort, which will enter into force in six months.

"We have signed a EUR 409 million contract, EUR 167 million of which are to be invested in the first three years," Bajrami said, stressing that the contract was very important for further economic development of Kosovo.

The signing ceremony was attended by Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, Deputy Prime Minister Hasim Taci and other senior Kosovo officials, media in Pristina reported.

The contract will enter into force in six months from today, a period for the French consortium to submit a financial plan, a zoning plan and other supporting documentation.

The project should create 3,000 new jobs for local people, and annual turnover from tourism should be around EUR 100 million.
