BiH: Ibro Macic sentenced for war crimes in Konjic

SARAJEVO - Former member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) Army Ibro Macic has been sentenced to ten years of imprisonment for war crimes committed against Serb and Croatian civilians in the territory of Konjic, the BiH Court released on Friday.

In the explanation of the ruling, the Court noted that Macic came to the Serb-populated village of Blace, municipality of Konjic, in June 1992 together with other members of the BiH Army, where he participated in the murder of four elderly women whose bodies were never recovered.

The Court found the defendant guilty on one more account as the investigation established that he participated in the torture, sexual abuse and inhumane treatment of detained Croatian and Serb civilians in the Musala prison camp as member of the Military Police in Konjica from May to October 1993.
