Golden Belt karate tournament held in Cacak

CACAK - Montenegrin karate fighter Mijat Vojvodic is the winner of the 44th Golden Belt tournament, held last weekend in Cacak, central Serbia.

Serbia's Stefan Semlal finished second, with Jose Manuel Lopez of Spain and Mehman Rzaev of Russia both in third.

Marija Madzarevic won the women's tournament, her compatriot Milana Jaksic claimed the second place, while Anastasia Rumyantseva of Russia and Puleksenija Jovanovska of Macedonia were tied in third.

In the exhibition part of the competition, the Serbian national team produced a display of good form by beating France.

The tournament featured 15 national teams - Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, France, Greece, Croatia, Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and Serbia.

The competition was organised by the Karate Federation of Serbia under the auspices of the city of Cacak.
